Carte blanche
This project takes on the topic of power and responsibility, and how the symbolic meaning of clothes can affect out thoughts and behavior. Focusing on fashion symbols symbolizing power, I have drawn inspiration from the 80´s power dressing. Combining this with grunge, the idea is to subvert and redefine oout traditional perception of power. While one of the styles represent a worklife, career, and materialistic capital, the other does the opposite. Pomposity and money does not matter, and social status is rather shown through beliefs and values. With this is mind, this projects intention is to counteract the elitist ignorance and the negative consequences of power, in order to create well-informed and responsible consumers.
