VALØR
The project aims to develop a spring/summer woman’s collection for formal occasions, where the title “Valør” signifies the depth and value of fashion. Drawing inspiration from elements of the traditional Norwegian Bunad, the collection seeks to challenge the perception that fashion is superficial and not a significant societal component. This is particularly relevant in the Norwegian context, where the attitude often is that fashion must be practical to be considered necessary.
The project seeks to highlight the importance of fashion from both societal and individual perspectives and explores the Norwegian style and its significance for society and the individual. Through this exploration, it addresses the tension between international trends and cultural authenticity in Norwegian fashion and discusses the implications for the future of the Norwegian fashion industry.
