“What methods can I, as a designer, use to encourage hand knitting?”
In my bachelor project, I explored the cultural significance of hand knitting and how using the “old”, we can contribute to a sustainable fashion movement. How can I inspire others to join a movement that has brought me so much personal joy?
The title “Lov å leke” reflects the theme of reconnecting with our inner child, which is central to my collection. I’ve always been fascinated by the reasons behind our clothing choices. When do we stop playing?
My goal is to promote hand knitting through a concept with focus on, easy, playful, and fun knitting patterns. By offering simple, engaging knitting patterns, I hope to encourage participation in the knitting movement and foster a more sustainable way of thinking. Additionally, I aim to reignite a connection with our inner child and our sense of playfulness.
