In what way can I make a durable woman’s collection with an expression that combines hyper masculine and hyper feminine elements?

This project wants to explore hyper femininity and hyper masculinity to express the complexity of gender identity. From a young age we are all placed in boxes, and these dictate how our identities evolve. But no one’s true identity can be defined by a box, and neither should how you choose to express that identity through clothes.

The collection uses historical fashion references to visually represent hyper masculinity and hyper femininity; workwear-, biker- and babydoll style. The denim jacket, the biker jacket and the babydoll dress are timeless pieces that throughout history have represented rebellious stereotypes in multiple subcultures and countercultures.

Can you use stereotypes to break stereotypes?

The functional, and rugged aggressiveness makes a strong contrast to the naive, innocent and almost childlike. I wish to use this contrast to communicate that you can embrace multiple parts of yourself even though they may seem contradictory.
